- Set up correct permissions so that SQL Server is able to make the backup
How to specify a UNC share in your maintenance plan
Backup to: Disk
Then type the UNC share directly into the “Folder:” field. E.g.
and then save.
Use the “Verify backup integrity” option to make sure the backup is not corrupted.
Alle done. The maintenance plan will now use that location.
Set up permissions for the network (UNC) share
You must use a domain user as a SQL Server service account.
You must give the SQL Server service account and NOT the SQL Server Agent service account write permissions to the network share.
